IT'S ON THE HORIZON

IT's HERE:
U2 has a new album and we have a release date-March 3, 2009-same month 22 years after The Josua Tree dropped.

Recorded in Fez (Morocco), Dublin and New York City No Line on the Horizon promises to be one of the best albums U2 has ever put out.

Insiders say the band took its time making its 12th long player. The band was patient and wanted to produce an album that transforms rock-n-roll (think The Joshua Tree vs. Acthung Baby). Bono has been quoted:

"We wanted to put out something different this time...like we did with Achtung Baby. We needed to change gears, and this album is different from anything we have ever done."

Long-time U2 producers Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Steve Lillywhite were on board for project.

Reports say the album is dark, very dark.

And we will see the light on March 3.

X-Mas Song

Believe
U2 has released a cover of Greg Lake's "I Believe In Father Christmas" just in time for the Holiday Season. During the song, you can hear The Edge's guitar echo out the heartache the world is suffering now--from the Mumbai bombings to the starving women and children in Africa. Bono does a great job on vocals, especially in the third verse and Larry plays some mean drums at the end.

...Believe

Log onto www.u2.com to listen to the song and to give to World Aids Day, the day for which the song benefits.

In other U2 news, several news outlets are reporting that the new U2 album is being mixed in Dublin and will be ready for an early 2009 release. And how dare Rolling Stone not put Bono as the #1 vocalist of all time. Let me see James Brown do Pavarotti...for three minutes-va bene'.

Be back soon.

Fave Album

Hi again,

Let's discuss something that really gets to me.

How can anyone have a favorite U2 album? It's like saying I'll only eat every other day, not every day.

Let's go down the list:

Boy, October, War, The Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, Acthung Baby, Zooropa, Pop, All That You Can't Leave Behind, How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, Passengers, Under a Blood Red Sky...are all five-star albums to any U2 fan worth his or her salt.

What?

Are you going to choose to not listen to Acthung Baby and "not" hear One or Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World? What if you skip Atomic Bomb? You lose out on City of Blinding Lights and Miracle Drug.

So choose the U2 album that best suits your mood that day, don't dismiss the others.

Also, while you are waiting for the new opus (due in '09), go through U2's oeuvre and listen to the albums with which you are not so familiar. I guarantee you will uncover a great song that you didn't know about beforehand.

I know I did in Twilight, which is off Boy.

Hi fellow U2 fans:
I am excited about the new U2 album that promises to be the #1 album in the world in 2009. So, I am here to share my enthusiasm with you.

Rumors have it that Messrs. Lanois and Eno are putting the finishing touches on the (yet untitled) album for an early '09 release date. The band (and Lanois and Eno) have held recording sessions in Fez, France and Dublin, so watch out, it's going to be a Killer.

U2 will soon take over the world again...2009 will be their year...ours too.

Think Acthung Baby and Zoo TV Tour. Also think three chords and the truth.

I'll be back with more soon.

See you later,
Fan
